As the convener of this forum (John Krhin), I will be opening each segment with a brief introduction to the named  topic. The forum will then allow all participants to advance the discussion.  We are not gathering to build a case for nor defend the scriptural revelation of five-fold ministry. But rather, we are concerned with facilitating the networking of both ministers and churches who are implementing the Ephesians 4 model in a variety of understandings and applications.  Prayerfully, this and future related events will bring glory to God and continued blessings to the Assemblies of God and other fellowships that embrace these truths.

Host church and event location:
Living Stones Fellowship

All sessions will be broadcast live on PGN Internet Radio.

Above Reproach

Above Reproach

Daniel 6:4 “At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.

Henry Wingblade, president of Bethel College, used to say that Christian personality is hidden deep inside us. It is unseen, like the soup carried in a tureen high over a waiter’s head. No one knows what’s inside–unless the waiter is bumped and he trips! Just so, people don’t know what’s inside us until we’ve been bumped. But if Christ is living inside, what spills out is the fruit of the Spirit. (–Carl Lundquist).

When you and I are bumped, what is it that spills out of us? Are we filled with the grace and power of the Lord Jesus Christ?

Daniel was a man of impeccable character who was bumped in a big way. The Lord was with him and he was a brilliant administrator of government affairs (Daniel 6:3). His colleagues were jealous and sought to bring him down. They conducted a thorough background check, but could find no “dirt” in Daniel. All they noticed was that he was very devoted to God, praying to him three times a day (Daniel 6:10).

After convincing King Darius to issue a decree that everyone must pray to him only for the next 30 days, they blew the whistle on Daniel, who continued to pray to God. Then, Daniel was bumped into the Lion’s Den. We never read that Daniel denied God, or panicked, but only that God intervened to save his life. Daniel was tossed in, but the aggression of the Lions was tossed out.

Just like a bowl of soup carried high by a waiter, we too are prone to being bumped around by the enemy. The trials of this life will bump us around hard, in an effort to shake off this thing called faith. Christ Jesus himself was rebuked, mocked and scorned. He was like a bowl thrown to the ground so that it shattered. But what spilled out was unbridled devotion to the Father.

Daniel was above reproach and that is our goal too. No matter what your circumstances are today, live a life that is above reproach. Be so obedient and devoted to the Lord that no one can find anything against you. Don’t let anyone shake Jesus out of you, but ask the Father to put more of Jesus in. And rest assured, God will have your back.

Gracious Father, Grant me such strength through the Holy Spirit, to live a life that is above reproach. Forgive me for times that I have failed you, and help me to be faithful and obedient in Christ, even when I get bumped. Only You can make this possible. In Jesus Name, Amen.
